Futures Volleyball League
"NEW" style of play allows for more participation, more movement,
more action, more play and less standing!!
The new exciting Futures league, for boys and girls age 8-12, offers an opportunity for young players to learn and enjoy the game of volleyball in an enhanced and modified setting that is more conducive to smaller and younger players.
Our philosophy includes using smaller courts, lower nets, a lighter ball, longer rallies, and less players per team to encourage more movement, more action, and the opportunity for young players to play more and stand still less. Our vision is to produce a kid’s version of volleyball for, well kids! Kids don’t drive cars, they ride bikes. This is the bike-riding of volleyball!
Highlights include
- 20’ X 20’ courts with modified serving zones and 6 foot net height.
- Lighter “volley-light” style ball.
- Max volley scoring - rallies begin with a serve, are played out, and followed by 2 additional balls put into play by each team’s coach. Point is awarded to the team that wins the majority of the 3 rallies.
- 8 weeks of play every Sunday. First 4 weeks include 1 hour of team practice with instruction from top coaches at the Virginia Beach Volleyabll Academy.
- Match format is 4 v 4, with no more than 6 players per team.
1) Do you have a team or do you need help finding one?
- I am registering a new team for the season: If you are registering a new team and you are the captain, coach, or primary contact please sign up as a "New Team--Team registration". There is no fee for a youth team registration. Each player on this team will register and pay the individual fee using the "With a team--joining a private team" option.
- My team has been registered and I need to join that private team: You will register under "With a team--joining a private team". Under the Team Information heading, use the drop down menu to find and highlight the team you are joining. You will pay for your registration at that time.
- I am an individual. I need help finding a team: Please register as an "Individual--Need help finding a team". The League Director will compile these players and place them on a structured team.

2) How do you sign up? We are currently accepting registrations for the Spring 2012 Season ~~ April 1- May 27

Futures Volleyball 8-12 years
Individual youth’s that wish to play on the same team, but are not registering on a previously created private team can do so by sending an email to the League Director (lbailey@beachfieldhouse.com) requesting to be placed together. If 4 or more players wish to play together, please create and register a new private team and email the League Director requesting assistance filling the roster. The Virginia Beach Field House does not assign coaches to teams.
Players that register at least 2 weeks before the first game will pay the regular league rate of $85. Players that register less than 2 weeks before the first game will pay a registration fee of $95. This includes individual players and players registering on a private team.
