Leagues
1. How long are the seasons?
Seasons are 8 to 11 weeks long depending on the time of year. Each team will play 8 games in some combination of regular season and post-season play.
2. What are the fields like?
All of our fields are in-fill turf, a synthetic playing surface with two inch blades of thiolon grass filled in with crumb rubber. The volleyball/basketball courts are a professional hard rubber surface.
3. How do I register to play sports at the Virginia Beach Field House?
It is easiest to register online. Visit our website and click on the button for the sport in which you are interested. Click on the league that you wish to play in and you will be directed to registration page. You may also click on the “Register Now” button from the home page, which shows all the sports and leagues currently available. Registrations may also be done in person or over the phone.
4. Are there different competitive levels for the sports leagues in the Virginia Beach Field House?
Yes. Leagues are either recreational or competitive. Competitive leagues are for athletic and/or skilled players that like to win. Recreational leagues are for people who play for the fun of the game, play for exercise or would like to win but winning is not the reason for playing.
5. How do I pay?
All players in all sports must pay before playing. Players are charged on an individual basis. Payment can be made online by credit card when you register or you may pay by credit card, cash, or check at our front counter. Less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the season is considered late registration. Online registration is not available during this period. Players must register by phone or in person.
6. Can I pay for my entire team?
Yes, though you will need to individually register all the players on your team as you will be charged on a per-player basis. You can do this one of two ways:
· bring a roster with complete player info to the Virginia Beach Field House and pay by credit card, check or cash
· register each player online and pay for each individual by credit card
7. When do I need to register my team?
Leagues are on a first come, first served basis. Teams shall meet the minimum roster requirements for the particular sport and all players must be PAID 14 days before the start of the season to GUARANTEE a spot in the league. Inside of 14 days before the season start, teams are not promised entry into the league. All late registration decisions will be made at the discretion of the Sports Director.
8. Can we add players late in the season?
Teams may add players until the start of the 3rd week of the season. These players will pay full late registration price. Injury replacements will be considered on a case by case basis.
9. Can we use un-rostered substitute players?
All players must register, pay, and be rostered on their team before playing. Substitutes are allowed for a sub fee. No subs or un-rostered players will be allowed during playoffs or post-season games.
10. My cousin Vinny is town and wants to play for my team, can he drop in?
Drop-in players not allowed.
11. Do teams registered in Virginia Beach Field House leagues get practice time?
Practice is not guaranteed. Virginia Beach Field House leagues are designed to be “game only” and are meant for players to have fun and be physically active each week. Practice may be available if field space and time allows.
12. What equipment do we need and what can we not use?
We recommend turf shoes for all sports.Outdoor cleats may be used on the fields if they are clean and do not have any metal parts. For safety reasons no screw in cleats will be allowed. No jewelry is permitted during any game play.
Soccer: shins guards required
Flag Football: no shorts with pockets
Field Hockey: stick, mouth guard, and shin guards.
Lacrosse: stick, helmet, gloves, elbow pads, mouth guard. Cups are strongly recommended.
13. Will the Virginia Beach Field House provide game or practice balls?
The Virginia Beach Field House will provide game balls only.
Facility
1. What are your hours?
The Virginia Beach Field House is open 7 days a week. Hours of operation are as follows:
Monday – Friday 8:00am – last game
Saturday – Sunday 8:00am – last game
These hours may vary and change without notice. Please check the website or call with any questions.
The business office is open Monday – Friday 9am to 6pm.
2. Do you close for bad weather?
Because we are an indoor sports facility, we try to stay open during all weather conditions. We do not follow any of the Virginia Beach city cancellation policies. If we decide to close we will post it on our website and Facebook page, as well as send an email to guests registered on our email notification list. If we remain open in bad weather and you feel it is unsafe to drive, please stay home.
3. You’ve remained open during bad weather but we can’t come, will we receive a forfeit?
You may. Generally if teams are not showing up during bad weather when we’ve stayed open, we declare all games to be “friendly” and will not count the results in the league standings. We may do this in advance, during, or after games.
4. Does the Virginia Beach Field House make up games missed due to weather cancelations?
Games missed due to a weather cancellation will not be rescheduled.
5. Can we bring our pets into the facility?
Pets are not permitted in the Virginia Beach Field House other than service animals for those who require them.
6. Is everything you do inside?
All the Field House activities are indoors with the exception of a few camps.
7. Can we bring in outside food?
The Virginia Beach Field House does not allow any outside food or drink into the facility. Players may bring water bottles to their game.
8. Do you have a lost and found?
We will generally keep items in the lost and found for about 30 days. Each month we donate ALL unclaimed items to charity.
Billing and Payment
1. What is your refund policy?
The Virginia Beach Field House does not issue refunds. If an event is cancelled, we may offer a Virginia Beach Field House credit for future events.
2. I sprained my ankle and won’t be able to play anymore, can I have a refund?
Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds to injured athletes.
3. What type of credit cards do you accept?
Visa, Master Card, Discovery, and American Express
4. Can I pay over the phone with a credit card?
Yes, please call the Virginia Beach Field House (757) 427-3955.
5. Can I register and pay online?
All league, class, and clinic registrations are available online. You may pay online when you register.
6. Can I pay half now and half later?
Full payment is due upon registration.
7. If I put down a $60 deposit for a party and change my mind can I be refunded?
All party deposits are non-refundable. Customers may change the date of the party if a conflict exists.
8. Can I pay by check?
You can pay by check. Please note that a returned check charge of $15.00 will be assessed for each returned item. Payment must then be made by cash, money order, or certified check and submitted by mail or delivered directly to:

If payment is not received in full, the $15 returned check fee will be paid first, with any remaining funds being applied to the account/bill.
Camps
1. What camps do you offer?
We have soccer, football, volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey, baseball and softball, basketball, Sports Stars Academy, Run & Fun, and Adventure Sport Camps. Please check the website for other offerings.
2. When are your camps?
We run camps for ten weeks during the summer and during school and holiday breaks.
Camps are set up to be “morning” (9AM to noon), “afternoon” (1PM to 4PM), or “full
day” (9PM to 4PM). Camps usually run Monday to Friday.
3. Who runs your camps?
The skills camps for each sport are run by outside professional organizations. The fun camps such as Sports Stars Academy, Run & Fun, and Adventure Sport are run by Virginia Beach Field House personnel. The Adventure Sport Camp also uses personnel from outside companies.
4. Do I have to pay to secure a spot?
Yes, a spot is not guaranteed until it is paid for.
5. What time is drop off and pick up?
Drop off is allowed ½ hour before camp starts and pick up is required within ½ hour of the camp’s end.
6. Can I drop off my child early or pick up late?
For an additional charge, campers may be dropped off early or picked up late through our Before and After program.
7. Is lunch provided?
Lunch is provided for all day Virginia Beach Field House camps only. You may purchase a concessions card and use it during camps.
8. How long is provided for lunch?
One hour
9. Where will Adventure Sport Camp be eating lunch?
At the Virginia Beach Field House.
10. What is a concessions card?
A concessions card may be purchased ahead of time and will act as a credit at the Virginia Beach Field House food court. The cost is $20 for $25 worth of concessions.
11. What do I do with the leftover balance on my concessions card?
It will still be valid for use at the Virginia Beach Field House food court.
Sports Stars Academy
1. How long is each session?
1. January-February

2. How long is each class?
50 minutes.
3. How much does it cost?
$120 per child per session.
4. What should my child wear?
Sneakers and comfortable clothes, turf shoes are allowed.
5. Do they need to bring a water bottle?
No, we have water fountains, as well as bottled water and other drinks for sale.
6. Are t-shirts included in the price?
Yes.
7. Can we make up a class if we miss one?
Yes, but please call ahead to make sure the class you want is not full.
8. Is there a sibling discount?
Yes, a sibling discount of $10 for the 2nd and each additional child is offered after the first full registration payment of $120.
9. Can we join a class even if it’s already started?
Yes, we will pro-rate the cost.
10. Should I pay before the class starts?
Yes, spots in a class are not guaranteed until payment is received by the Virginia Beach Field House.
11. How can I register for Sports Stars Academy?
You may register online, over the phone, or in person. Online registration begins 1 month prior to the beginning of each session.
