Learn About Lexi, a Make-A-Wish kid from here in Virginia Beach that plays at the Fieldhouse!!!
Lexi was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 3 years old. Needless to say this was devastating to our whole family. Lexi has been through over 2 years of chemo treatments and some serious side effects that go along with treatment. During her treatments, we were contacted by the Make A Wish organization. The representatives were amazing and they included every member of our family in their gift to us. Lexi got to choose what her wish was and of course, as a 3 year old, she chose Disney and EVERYTHING in Orlando was pretty much included. She was treated like a Princess from the moment they picked us up at home in a limo and everything in between. Our family will never forget the experience and the joy it brought a sweet little girl during her time of cancer. Now to look at our vibrant, active and healthy 7 year old, you would never be able to tell she has had to battle with Leukemia. She is a survivor of 2 years off chemo and we are so proud of our little girl!
Our family wants to give back to Make A Wish in any way possible. --Laura DeSue
